Eyelets - Can anyone help me?

Hi girls
I've had so much trouble trying to find eyelets big enough for my mini albums.
I have some great eyelets from Stampin' Up (jumbo eyelets in the bronze & silver) but they are so expensive.
The only other eyelets I can find are too small to go through the thickness of my mini album pages.
Also, I don't really know how to check the sizes - what the mm refers to - diameter or length of the middle cylinder??? It's so frustrating trying to buy these on line.
Can anyone help me pleeeeeeeaaaaaaaase!!!!

  1. Jenny - I can't help you with your eyelet dilema; but, I did want to let you know your June mini is gorgeous - the paper you used is one of my favorite sets - I bought two packs when they were on sale at Hobby Lobby & found some "loose" sheets in a pack at Big Lots for $2.00 - you do beautiful work - thanks for sharing

  2. Thanks Weezie
I just love that set too - I also bought 2.
You're a grandmother too :). Isn't it the best feeling :). I'm lucky in that I have all 3 grandsons living within 5 minutes of me.

  3. Hi Jen
Have you tried looking at AC Moore, Or Joanns Fabrics. I was at Big lots today and found some in a little bin for $1.00. Not sure if these stores are in your area or even if they carry the size you are looking for.Good Luck!

  6. Well...I can't believe that we make all these beautiful mini albums and do not take the time to ensure the holes we punch are secured with eyelets. Why is it so darn hard? If/when I find some I'll definitely let you all know. It's my top priority at the moment lol. I'll find them even if I have to make them myself!!!

  8. Ok I may actually have a solution for you. I was looking for the Jumbo eyelets myself just the other day and I was in Hobby Lobby. I usually wander the entire store because many times I find awesome scrapbook items for dirt cheap in different sections of the store.

I found these extra large eyelets in the leather working section. They were only in silver and had an extra long curling end. There were prob. 50 per bag at least and it only cost me $1.77 a bag. So I tried them out with my crop a dile and they worked beautifully. I just squeezed normally the first time then flipped them around and squeezed it upside down just to tighten a little more.

Also they can be altered with ink/utee, etc to customize colors. I love them and I hope you can find them in your local craft stores.

  9. I found some at Beverly's-but not in the scrapbook area, I found them in the with the sewing notions. They are pretty big, I have not tried them with my cropadile, however. They do work with the old eyelet setters. Good luck!

  10. Hi Girls! Thanks to all who suggested various outlets where I could maybe find some decent eyelets. Great News! Well...I think it's great news. I found a couple of Australian online scrapbook stores who had "some" eyelets and I've ordered a few different varieties just in case. I'm now waiting anxiously till they arrive and am going to buy the entire collection if they're what I need hehehe.
Thanks again for your help girls :)
