Hi everyone!

Working in my whimsy houses journal today I go back to my folk art roots!

I'm trying to find all sorts of whimsical houses to paint and came across this image during a google search and decided I would have to paint it!

First though I had to trace it and transfer it on the page as there was no way on this earth I was going to do it justice if I drew it!

Then it was just having so much fun adding colour and detail to it!

Hi everyone!

Well I tried! Watching Sara (MySerenityCrafts) over on YouTube who suggested we google castle images and draw it from there! I think I could get away with the castle drawing but the colouring and shading leaves a lot to be desired. Good thing my notebook journal can expand to add many pages because it's gonna take that long to get this thing right! LOL

Hi everyone!

Today's page was inspired by Sara (my serenity crafts on YouTube). I have been binge watching Sara's videos for a couple of weeks now. I love her style! It takes me back to my folk art days and my patchwork quilting days. I used to love creating quilts with lots of applique - designs in this style. So when I found Sara I knew I just had to attempt one of her pages.

You can watch Sara's video on how she created this page by CLICKING HERE.

Art Journal Page 204

Hi everyone!

I'm so so excited!!!! All my hard work trying to get the whites to actually appear white over the top of sprays has worked!!! So happy!

So I sprayed the page with yummy sprays, applied 5 coats of generic hair spray (fixative), applied a couple of coats of gel medium then clear gesso, sanded and applied another coat of clear gesso. Yes, it is a lot of work but if it actually does the trick, I'll do it! I can have multiple pages on the go and have them at the ready for later :)

So when the first page worked I was so excited I didn't even create a layout as such on the page, just a few white gesso sponged circles and some text written with a POSCA paint pen - just to see if it worked.

So then I started on a fresh page, applying the same process, then created a layout!
