Art Journal Page - Live Stream - Don't Accept Advice!

Hi everyone

I've been slack with my blog posts for my live streams. This one was recorded last week on 23 November 2018 but I didn't take any photos for the blog and I haven't even edited the YouTube recording details. My bad! I'm thinking that it was because my camera mount collapsed and I had to set up a temporary camera setup which wasn't the best, but oh well, it is what it is!

You can watch the full live recording (it's back the front because of the position of the camera) on my YouTube channel by CLICKING HERE.

I can't even remember what products I used, other than the embossing powders that Eileen made me use!!!! It didn't turn out too badly, not my best but I'm always learning :)

Thanks so much for watching and stay tuned for more!!!

Having Fun With Shipping Tags - Layers #1

Hi everyone!

Well, after all those ICADs and journal pages I think I was drained of all creativity! Actually, I've been cleaning windows and my craft room, that's why I've been away for a couple of weeks.

I was playing around with backgrounds on shipping tags before I started cleaning and thought I would create a weekly/monthly (don't know yet) challenge over on my Art Journal Techniques FaceBook page.

What I thought I would do was upload a shipping tag that I'd played around with on YouTube, post the link to my FaceBook Art Journal Techniques page and start it off with this as the first challenge. You could even go further with the challenge and create a journal page using the techniques used for the shipping tag. You can join the Art Journal Techniques FaceBook group by clicking HERE.

You can watch the full YouTube video by clicking HERE.

So...for today's tag I decided to play around with layers.

Blind 3 Colour Challenge on Ustream Today

Hi everyone!

It's Friday again, and yet another stream. Today we decided to do the blind 3 colour challenge and I closed my eyes and selected three colours of paint. I had chosen two very close shades of yellow so I decided to throw one back in and choose another. The three colours I picked were:

Cadmium Yellow Medium Hue
Iridescent Red Blue
Fluorescent Pink

Ouch!

So we just put down some paint, added some stamping and texture and then I thought that it was a great background to add black as a contrast. So I just painted the border black, feathered it with a wet baby wipe and voila!

Next we decided to add a silhouette image so, as our friend Eileen doesn't like flamingos, and flamingos are pink, we decided to do a silhouette of a flamingo. I printed the flamingo out onto copy paper, cut it out very carefully so I could use it as a mask. I then decided that I had cut out the flamingo so well that I should include it on the page.

Then someone said we needed a cracked egg (guess who that was, yep Eileen) so I drew an egg, added some pink spots, drew some cracks and then used some yellow ink for the yolk seepage. It looked too yellow so I added some of the fluoro pink and it turned out just like the yolk of an egg!

Now for the title? DREAM was already there as one of the texture components of the background so we added 'or NIGHTMARE'. And voila! The page was done!
