Art Journal Page 227

Hi everyone!

Today's page was based solely on using the StencilGirl stencils I'd received as being invited to be a guest blogger on their site. I used two of the three stencils I'd received for today's page.

I started off working on the background by applying acrylic paints with a wet baby wipe and I really loved the softness and the blending this technique gave the page. Then all I had to do was add the stencils and title and voila! Quick and easy and fun!

StencilGirl® Guest Design Post - Lost

Hi everyone!

I'm so excited to tell you that I have been invited to be a guest designer for StencilGirl® Talk!

All I had to do was create something using one or more of their stencils, so I decided on a journal page. I created a video on the entire process and took photos of each stage along the way.

For the step by step process and pics head on over to StencilGirl® Talk and check it out!

Thanks for stopping by!

Art Journal Page 215

Hi everyone!

I wanted to play with my distress inks today because ever since I've bought the distress oxide inks I have ignored them completely! I wanted to see how a large background would look using just distress inks. So I really had fun creating the background and it looked so soft that angels and mermaids came to mind. I knew I had a mermaid stencil - just one, and I knew I had either stamps or stencils with wings, hence the mer-angel!

Then I had to go and use embossing powder, didn't I! I curse the mess every time I use it but never remember until it's too late and I have a huge mess of embossing powder everywhere! Just as well the end result is worth it LOL.
