Art Journal Page 195

Hi everyone!

Today's page has been created based on the Tag Challenge #5 from our Art Journal Techniques FaceBook group. We will be playing around with heat embossing today!

I have an awful time of it when I play around with sprays! Since they are reactive, anyt medium you put over the sprays will come through to the top, so using heat embossing can eliminate that 'headache' LOL. Having said that, it's a lot of work trying to keep that embossed area clean of sprays, but so worth the end result!

Products used:

Golden Gesso
Memory Box 'butterfly' stencil
KaiserCraft 'butterfly' template
VersaMark clear embossing ink

Having Fun With Shipping Tags No.5

Hi everyone!

Another tag challenge today over on our Art Journal Techniques FaceBook group page, and today's challenge is all about heat embossing, yep - the dreaded heat embossing LOL.

So I wanted to use sprays with the heat embossing also, so I decided to use some Dylusions stamps with some embossed butterflies and spray. That's all I thought about as I set to create the page.

I also used some art masking fluid to help with keeping the flowers plain old black & white, it helped heaps!

Art Journal Page 193

Hi everyone!

Just playing around today, testing out Tim Holtz's distress crackle paint and how best to use it - well not the way I did today! I wasn't happy with how this page turned out but will try again until I master it! LOL

I started out using excess paint from the tag #4, added some white, then it went all downhill from there. Once I added the crackle medium around the border it just went sour! I did not like how it framed the page and don't think it worked with the final result. Oh well, another learning curve LOL.

Art Journal Page 194

Today's page was based on the Tag #4 challenge over on my Art Journal Techniques FaceBook group page. Crackle medium! Oh how I dislike this technique! Only because I haven't mastered the art of the crackling yet. No matter how many times I try it, I never seem to get it right every time, hit and miss for me. Then I go and draw the hearts upside down! Just wasn't my day today! Oh well, get used to it Jen, there'll be plenty more of those to come LOL.
