ICAD 2017 - Day 17 - Sprout

Hi again everyone!

Another ICAD today - shock, horror! LOL

I guess this one made me think a bit. Given that I am not very imaginative, creatively speaking. I am more of a realist so I had to portray an actual 'sprout' LOL. But how? Obviously in a pot or in the ground, and the pot seemed to be the easiest solution :)

ICAD 2017 - Day 16 - Rainbow

Hi everyone!

Another ICAD LOL. Today's prompt was 'rainbow'. Instead of doing the usual rainbow I decided to colour an image with the colours of the rainbow.

So I grabbed a stamp which had a matching die so that I could use the negative of the die-cut feather as a mask to help with the colouring of the feather.

The addition of the textured kitchen paper helped made the background look more interesting rather than plain old sprays.

You can watch the full process video on YouTube by clicking HERE.

ICAD 2017 - Day 14 - Leaves

Hi everyone!

Today's prompt was 'leaves'! So many ways I could have portrayed this prompt but I chose to heat emboss a 'silhouette fern' stamp I had. Seemed easy enough, but when I added the background and other elements I think I lost sight of the actual focal image - the leaves!

I think the other colours I used overpowered the leaves. Oh well, ya live and learn!

ICAD 2017 - Day 12 -- Wings

Hi again everyone!

Back to the ICADs it is!

I enjoyed creating this one. The prompt was 'wings' and I'd just recently bought a stamp set with an angel and wings by Carabelle Studio. The angel and the wings were separated, which is handy!

Again I used blues for the background (just love blue), add a dress form heat embossed with black and top it off with gold tinsel wings! Match made in Heaven!

Art Journal Page 161

Hi everyone!

I thought I'd give you a break from ICADs and toss in a journal page as well today LOL.

I streamed live on Ustream today and created a page on burlap from my Dina Wakley Multi Surface journal. For the background I decided to drip watered down paint from a distance onto the page using a dropper. I liked the effect it made so I decided to try it again in my Dylusions journal.

Once I had the background done I had to decide what to do with it next. I came back to the old faithful circles LOL.
